Program

The conference was held in English.

With the conference "Ctrl+Alt+Remember - Digital Remembrance today" on June 19th and 20th 2024 in Berlin, the EVZ Foundation made the expertise gathered within the framework of the projects funded by YOUNG PEOPLE remember international and the Education Agenda NS-Injustice accessible to an expert audience and the interested community and linked up with current discourses. In addition to workshops and discussion rounds, the two-day event featured the possibility of testing digital tools from EVZ funding and networking opportunities.

Since 2020, the EVZ Foundation has been supporting civic education projects that enable young people to critically engage with history with funding from the Federal Foreign Office as part of the YOUNG PEOPLE remember international funding program. The focus lies on transnational learning at historical sites of National Socialist persecution and extermination as well as questions of European culture(s) of remembrance in Germany, Europe and Israel.

In addition to the targeted funding of memorial sites in other European countries and exchanges for young adults and multipliers, YOUNG PEOPLE remember international explicitly funds projects that deal with the digital culture of remembrance. In direct cooperation with the young target group and the Civic Tech Community, products are created to convey the history of National Socialism using digital tools. This results in low-threshold offers such as serious games, apps, podcasts or VR applications that aim to convey the crimes of National Socialism.
