Lernen aus Akten [Learning from Files]

The project "Lernen aus Akten" is a cooperation project between the Verband Deutscher Sinti und Roma - Landesverband Bayern [Association of German Sinti and Roma - Bavarian Regional Association] and the Chair of Didactics of History at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. The project sponsor is the bayerische Landesverband der Deutschen Sinti und Roma based in Nuremberg.
Using the stock of the approximately 1,000 reparation files of the bayerische Landesverband, the process of reparation after 1945 up to the present will be illustrated using a multi-perspective approach. The project aims to digitize and scientifically analyze the reparation files in compliance with research ethics and data protection regulations.
The results of scientific analysis of the reparation files constitute the basis for preparation and testing of didactic materials for use in universities and extracurricular educational institutions.
The Verband Deutscher Sinti und Roma - Landesverband Bayern represents the interests of German Sinti and Roma living in Bavaria. Implementation of the European Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is one of its key responsibilities.
