Short film “Weiter Erzählen”

Short film “Weiter Erzählen”

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the November pogroms, we released the short film "Weiter Erzählen" (Pass It On): a documentation of the funding programme “Encounters with Former Forced Labourers and Other Victims of National Socialism”. Filmmaker Johannes Wissmann shows how the stories told by historical eyewitnesses make history come to life. The personal encounters encourage young people to learn about survivors of National Socialism and their life stories and then pass on their recollections to subsequent generations.

New interactive app for young people

New interactive app for young people

The “Fleeing the Holocaust. My Encounter with Refugees” app utilises film to provide young people with access to historical experience on the subject of displacement. Worldwide, there are currently 66 million people fleeing war, torture and economic hardship. People were also being forced to flee persecution and destruction during the era of National Socialism. Displacement is thus both a contemporary and historical experience. An online manual is available for multipliers engaged in school and extracurricular education.

“Education with Testimonies” online publication series

“Education with Testimonies” online publication series

Those who survived the crimes of National Socialism have left us with various testimonies: interviews, photos, journals, poems, drawings. These items confront us with the survivors' personal experiences. Yet we are still left with questions: Are the testimonies also enough to preserve those individuals' specific history in the public culture of remembrance? How can they be used in everyday education practices? These are the questions addressed by the four-volume publication series “Education with Testimonies”. All the volumes are available in bookstores and can be downloaded free of charge.
