Dialog Forum

Organizations from Belarus have been participating in the Dialog Forum, part of the cluster “Support for survivors of National Socialist persecution,” with the aim of improving the living conditions of survivors. The goal of the funding was to honor their lifetime achievements and help promote their recognition in society.

The funding program is directed at people who suffered under the National Socialist regime, such as former concentration camp and ghetto inmates, former NS forced laborers and Soviet prisoners of war. Other people, both older and younger, can also take part in the group activities or serve as volunteers. The social participation formats range from dialog programs and home visits to practical assistance with everyday activities.

Local executing organization

The EVZ Foundation had entrusted the management of the funding program to the MOOV organization in Belarus. This executing organization supported the projects, forged connections and represented the interests of survivors of National Socialist persecution in committees concerned with policy for older people and social affairs. Independent experts advised the Foundation and assisted the executing organizations with project selection.

The Dialog Forum program ended in 2026.

Funding in Russia

Since its establishment, the EVZ Foundation has also funded projects for survivors of National Socialist persecution in the Russian Federation. After the Duma passed a law in August 2023 making it a criminal offense to accept funds from foreign non-profit organizations, the EVZ Foundation had to end its funding in 2023 in agreement with its partners. The decisive factor in taking this step was the safety of the staff working for our long-standing executing organization and its local project partners, since this is our highest priority.

This decision was based on careful consideration of the differing conditions in the countries in which the EVZ Foundation provides funding.
