"Unbroken - The Song of Survivors"

The project ‘Unbroken - The Song of Survivors’ seeks to highlight the history of the Sinti and Roma, Europe's largest minority, in an innovative way. By remembering the forgotten Holocaust and inspiring a current critical examination of existing antigypsyism, prejudices are to be challenged and tolerance promoted.

The focus is particularly on young people who previously had limited contact with historical reappraisal. Educational materials and an accompanying blended-learning platform will make it easier for teachers to deal with the forgotten Holocaust in schools.

Uniqueness and methods
The distinctive feature of the project is the three-part series, which is realized as an anime musical and tells the stories of those affected before and during the genocide committed by the National Socialists as well as their second persecution after the end of the war. Combining music, animation and historical education, this unusual approach creates a unique format. To complement the series, an accompanying blended-learning platform provides an in-depth exploration of the history of the Sinti and Roma A distinctive community-based approach ensures that Sinti and Roma are integrated from conception to dissemination of the content.

Dissemination strategy
Several channels will be used to distribute the anime musical, including social media, film festivals, live screenings in cinemas and mainstream media. In this way, the message aims to reach a wide audience and appeal to young people in particular.
