Schicksale aus Polen 1939-1945. Erinnern lokal & digital

The Polish-German cooperation project aims to establish a comprehensive multilingual database and internet platform with all available information on victims of National Socialism originating from Poland. This information will be used as a basis for initiatives in the field of culture of remembrance from all over Germany in order to develop educational formats to keep the memory of this chapter of German-Polish history alive.

Using the database as a kind of "virtual memorial" and a comprehensive source of information, the project will help to preserve, systematize and present knowledge about the fate of millions of Polish citizens during World War II, as well as to promote and disseminate it by way of selected reports and testimonies.

Local initiatives in the field of culture of remembrance
In a participatory process, local initiatives on remembrance are going to use the database to develop their own educational formats and materials. These are also to be used in the emerging "place of remembrance and encounter with Poland".

Polish-German project cooperation
For years, both cooperation partners – the Foundation for Polish-German Reconciliation in Warsaw, and the German Poland Institute in Darmstadt – have been working on coming to terms with the complex German-Polish history and already possess many years of experience with projects concerning documentation and education.

Education Agenda NS-Injustice

The Magazine of the Education Agenda NS-InjusticeThe Magazine of the Education Agenda NS-Injustice

The Education Agenda NS-Injustice started in autumn 2021 with two certainties: Firstly, the survivors are passing away; there are few chances today to meet eyewitnesses who can tell us first-hand about the atrocities committed by the National Socialists. Secondly, we are increasingly entering contexts in which boundaries between fiction and fact are blurred. Under these conditions, we are dependent on new ways of learning and innovative forms of conveyance in our critical examination of National Socialist injustice and in historical-political educational work. In the magazine we present the funding program, projects and current debates.
