The goal of the scholarship program is to deepen existing collaborations and share knowledge in light of common challenges to democratic coexistence. Joint project development is also a key aim of the exchange. Through these scholarships, the EVZ Foundation and the New Israel Fund Germany further develop German-Israeli relations at the civil society level and strengthen democratic engagement in both countries - even under difficult conditions and travel restrictions. This initiative builds on 60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel and actively contributes to their continued development.
