Euro 6.9 million for the funding year 2012

Berlin, 16. December 2011.
At its 31st meeting on Thursday, the international Board of Trustees of the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” resolved to make funds totalling EUR 6.9 million available for the funding year 2012.

“Despite the tight situation on the financial markets we have succeeded in maintaining funding for 2012 at the same level as in the current year“, announced Dr Martin Salm, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”, welcoming the result after yesterday’s meeting. “Above all the Foundation EVZ has confirmed its commitment to humanitarian projects with a sum of EUR 2.4 million. This is a positive signal for the elderly victims of National Socialism“, added Salm.

The international Board of Trustees of the Foundation is made up of 27 members. These are seconded, for instance, by the German Industry Foundation Initiative, the parliamentary groups in the German Bundestag, the Upper House of the German Parliament, the German Federal Foreign Office, the Ministry of Finance, the partner countries Poland, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, the Czech Republic, the USA and Israel, as well as victim associations and international organisations.
