Pupil Exchange Scholarships
Together with AFS Interkulturelle Begegnungen e.V. (the German branch of the American Field Service) and the Deutsches Youth for Understanding Komitee e. V., the Foundation EVZ awards scholarships for pupil exchanges between Germany and Central and Eastern Europe.
Although priority is accorded to the relatives of former forced labourers and of other victims of National Socialism, scholarships are also awarded to applicants who have taken an active interest in their home countries in the theme of forced labour or National Socialism.
The pupils stay for one year in the host country, where they attend advanced schools and live with host families. Since 2003, a total of 70 full and partial scholarships have been awarded to participants from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus; 30 partial scholarships have been awarded to participants from Germany.
The Foundation EVZ supports the scholarships until 2011.
