1st prize As part of an encounter project, pupils attend a service at the Herbartstrasse synagogue (Berlin-Charlottenburg) and then talk with Rabbi Professor Dr Andreas Nachama.
2nd prize Vasil – a friend under foreign soil.
3rd prize Former forced labourer Valentina Efimovna with her “suitcase of life”.
Other entries 1 Former forced labourer Maria Zolotareva works in the project as cook for other former forced labourers. Everybody loves her tasty meals. Volunteers Robert, from Germany, and Ivanka, from Canada, say “thank you” in an international language.
Other entries 2 Clouds in me – the title of a spectacular show the children rehearsed for a tour. Volunteers from Germany and artistes jump for the photographer.

Other entries 6 Pre-op examination. Maria Ivanovna Artemenko is one of the former forced labourers whose eyesight was restored thanks to the medical assistance projects.
Other entries 7 Volunteers on the move. Campaign to inform young people in Telsia, Lithuania, about volunteering. The volunteers took the campaign bus to schools and reported on assignments in Lithuania and Europe.
Other entries 8 The vestigial star. Jerzy Nacel, hobby historian born in Kartuzy, holds what is probably the last surviving relic of the Kartuzy synagogue, which was destroyed in 1939.
Other entries 9 “Life of an old man”: Costica Zargiuin, a 74-year-old Rom, at his home in Valeni, Romania.
